Awakening art stories

"Awakening art stories" is a programme run by the Kunsthaus Zürich for people with dementia, as well as their relatives and carers.

Under expert guidance, participants work together to develop ideas, associations and poems inspired by selected works of art. What is said is noted down and woven together into a shared story.

The programme was developed in collaboration with the Centre for Gerontology and the University of Zurich’s research focus "Dynamics of Healthy Ageing". The result is a space where the focus is not on forgetting, but on shared experiences: looking, telling stories, making associations and exchanging ideas.
